Leeds Shopping

Leeds has been dubbed UK's shopping Mecca of the north, and for good reason. It is abound with shopping centres and with a compact city centre, there is no need to bring your walking shoes.

The County Shopping Arcade is located in the heart of the city. It features a stylish architecture with a glazed roof, mosaic floors and a large variety of shops, fashion boutiques and cafés.

Another shopping centre is the Granary Wharf located on Neville Street in the waterfront area. It has a large selection of shops, including many unusual stores. The Leeds Corn Exchange, an unusual circular building, is for the more old-fashioned shopping experience. It has more than 60 independent and quirky shops under a stunning domed roof.

A must-see shopping area is the Victoria Quarter, topped by the largest stained glass roof in Europe. This area was once a mass of narrow yards housing slaughter houses and butcher shops, and was then redeveloped in the early 1900s. Finally, for the all-you-need experience, go to the Headrow Shopping Centre. It has a vast array of shops, including antique shops, spread over three floors. It also has restaurants, cafés, bars, nightclubs, a multi-screen cinema and a health club.
